The upcoming Malayalam film, Pongala written and directed by AB Binil has the attention of the audience. The film is said to be centred around the exploration of a feud between two factions against the Vypin Harbour backdrop. It draws inspiration from historical events that took place in the coastal areas of Vypin and Munambam long ago. Now, the film is looking for talented children to cast in the film.
The makers are looking for children who somewhat resemble Sreenath Bhasi, Baburaj Bibin George and Appani Sharath to play their childhood characters. The crew is also looking for a 20-year-old girl to portray the role of Sreenath Bhasi’s sister. The team will give preference to those from the Kochi coastal area.

Pongala is a production of Anil Pillai, Donna Thomas, Alex Paul and Geo Sheebas, under the banners of Global Pictures Entertainment and Thea Creations. The film is a mix of action and humour and will star Baburaj, Bibin George, Appani Sarath, Surya Krishna, Shammi Thilakan, Indrans, Yami Sona, Durga Krishna, Martin Murugan, and Praveena. As per the recent reports, the filming is scheduled to commence on August 17 at the Vypin and Munambam locations.
Lead actor, Sreenath Bhasi was last seen in the blockbuster hit Manjummel Boys, directed and written by Chidambaram S Poduval. The cast includes names like Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, Ganapathi S Poduval, Lal Jr, Deepak Parambol and Abhiram, among many others. It emerged to be the highest-grossing film in Malayalam cinema.
On the other hand, the director of Pongala, AB Binil has also worked as a screenwriter and actor in the Malayalam industry. He kicked off his acting venture with the film Theneechayum Peerankipadayum in 2018 and worked as an assistant director on Joseph 2018. He marked his debut as a director and writer in 2022 with Vamanan.
