Karisma Kapoor needs no special introduction. From setting one-of-a-kind trends in the industry to picking unconventional roles, the actress has done it all with the utmost ease. In a recent interview, Karisma discussed how the looks for her films were finalised, which became all the rage in the 90s. She also revealed that a yesteryear actress had a major impact on her as a child and influenced her decisions.
In an interview with Grazia magazine, Karisma Kapoor explained how she drew inspiration for her looks back in those days. Karisma stated that she was initially instructed on what outfits she needed to wear; however, she became more active in determining her looks later on. Karisma added that late actress Sridevi had a major influence on her choices. She shared, “When we started, we were told what to wear but then over time, we got involved. I think generally we were inspired by what was happening in the west, old stories of actors, and especially what Sri ji (Sridevi) used to do.”

Karisma Kapoor also spoke about her film Dil Toh Pagal Hai. Sharing her thoughts on the film’s shifting perspectives, she said, “It was iconic. Jazz, athleisure, a mainstream actress not getting the hero, it was a turning point.”
Meanwhile, Karisma Kapoor had been away from showbiz for some time, and the actress made a successful return with Homi Adjania’s Murder Mubarak. The actress plays Shehnaaz Noorani in the film, which was also her OTT debut.
The murder mystery, starring Pankaj Tripathi, Sara Ali Khan, Vijay Varma, Dimple Kapadia, Sanjay Kapoor, and Tisca Chopra, among others, is set against the backdrop of a killing at the Royal Delhi Club, with high-society guests under suspicion. ACP Bhavani Singh (Pankaj Tripathi) investigates and uncovers many more secrets and lies. Murder Mubarak is currently available on Netflix.
