Kareena Kapoor took her fans by surprise in Abu Dhabi by dancing to her hit song “Yeh Ishq Haaye” from Jab We Met. She attended an event at Al Waha Mall, wearing a beautiful blush pink saree by Manish Malhotra. A video of her dancing to the song has gone viral on social media already. She also performed to “Nagada Nagada,” another popular song from the same film, which starred Shahid Kapoor and was directed by Imtiaz Ali.
Kareena was in Abu Dhabi for the inauguration of a jewellery store. Jab We Met remains one of her most popular films, with her character Geet still loved by many. Rumours of a sequel with Shahid Kapoor surfaced in 2023, but director Imtiaz Ali had told Times Now, “If it’s happening, I don’t know.”
In a recent conversation with News18 Showsha, Imtiaz hinted that a chance to make a sequel of the film is rather slim. He said, “Why have a sequel to Jab We Met (laughs)? If people want to keep relishing the film, they can keep watching the first one! There has to be a story and a reason to make Jab We Met 2. But let’s see if it happens. Never say never!”
On the work front, Kareena was recently seen in the comedy-drama film Crew. The film also featured Tabu, Kriti Sanon, Diljit Dosanjh and Kapil Sharma in pivotal roles. Helmed by Rajesh A Krishnan, the film garnered widespread acclaim from critics and audiences.
Next up for Kareena is The Buckingham Murders, directed by Hansal Mehta. However, the release date of the film has been kept under wraps. Besides, she is set to hit the big screens with Rohit Shetty’s Cop Universe film Singham Again alongside Ajay Devgn. The most awaited project features a stellar ensemble cast, including Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, and Akshay Kumar.
