Kannada actor Dharma is a popular name in showbiz. He has starred in more than 300 films in a career spanning 23 years. But among them, he has played the role of a police officer in the majority of the movies. He had also revealed once that he had to reject many projects because he was just getting the role of a cop. It has been reported that he has appeared in more than 80 films as a police officer.
In one of his interviews, Dharma revealed that in his career, he has never been allowed to play the lead. He said that if directors give the same roles or characters to the same person, a new hero will not be born in Kannada films. He added that the directors make three to four films with the same hero.
This is one of the biggest reasons why no new stars are born in the Kannada film industry, the actor remarked. He also advised the directors to do experiments and take some risks. He told them to be fearless and bring in new people. He further added that when he came into the industry, there was only one star at the time, Shiva Rajkumar. He also explained that there are no directors in Sandalwood to create heroes.
Dharma also talked about his upcoming film, Nice Road. The upcoming film deals with themes of sin, virtue and reincarnation. It is written and directed by Gopal Halepalya, and the film stars the actor in a lead role after a long gap. Recently, the trailer for Nice Road was also released, creating a lot of buzz among his fans.
Nice Road is Gopal Halepalya’s second directorial film after his earlier film Tandava. This suspense thriller explores the question of why sins committed in this life are punished only in the next. Apart from Dharma, the film also features Jyothi Rai, who plays a pivotal role in the film.
