As per the reports, Amazon Prime Video has purchased the streaming rights of this film for Rs 200 crore.

Kalki 2898 AD, written and directed by Nag Ashwin, has set the cash registers ringing since its release and according to KoiMoi.com, crossed the staggering Rs 1040 mark at the box office. After attaining such a massive success at the box office, Kalki 2898 AD is reportedly set for its OTT streaming, as well. As per the reports, Amazon Prime Video is expected to release the South Indian versions of this film by August 23, 2024. On the other hand, Netflix is rumoured to stream Kalki 2898 AD’s Hindi version. As per the reports, Amazon Prime Video has purchased the streaming rights of this film for Rs 200 crore. On the other hand, Netflix has locked Kalki 2898 AD’s OTT deal for Rs 175 crores.

Discounted Ticket Sales

Starting from today onwards, Kalki 2898 AD is expected to benefit from the discounted ticket rates. According to the offer announced, this film is available to watch in theatres at Rs 100 flat in India. This will surely provide a boost to the film’s earnings during the sixth weekend. Overseas, too, the collection is expected to witness a surge today and tomorrow.

Cast

Kalki 2898 AD boasts an ensemble star cast of actors Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani and others.

Bujji, a futuristic AI-powered electric vehicle

One of the major aspects of this film was the Bujji, a futuristic AI-powered electric vehicle. Actress Keerthy Suresh has voiced this car’s character and it was shown to be serving as a trusted companion to Prabhas character Bhairava.

Criticism

Kalki 2898 AD has also received criticism from some sections of the viewers, including the Vedic scholar Kandukuri Balasubramanya Sharma. The Vedic scholar had said that the Kalki 2898’s storyline and narration are far different from the facts. It does not reflect reality. As per the Vedic scholar, the end of Kali Yuga will not happen just anytime soon. Pandit Balasubramanya said that we are living in the early years of the Kali Yuga and it will take a few thousand years for it to end. He added that at the end of Kali Yuga, the Dharma will be destroyed, as well as yagnas and yagas will be stopped.
