Actress Nikita Dutta has worked primarily in Hindi films and television. After participating in the 2012 Femina Miss India pageant, she made her acting debut with the romantic drama Lekar Hum Deewana Dil (2014). She had a small role in Shahid Kapoor-starrer Kabir Singh. Now, Nikita is making her Marathi film debut with Gharat Ganpati. The team released its teaser yesterday, which is filled with ample fun elements. As shown in the teaser, the audience will witness the story of the Gharat family, which is set against the backdrop of the Konkan region of Maharashtra. The theme of the film is said to be how festivals help in strengthening the relationship and bond of family members.
Nikita Dutta made her television debut in 2015 in Dream Girl. She played Lakshmi, an aspiring actress opposite Mohsin Khan. She left the show in November 2015. Her career marked a turning point with her portrayal of a strong woman named Suman in Ek Duje Ke Vaaste, opposite Namik Paul. The show reached its peak in October of the same year. From 2017 to 2018, she played a lawyer opposite Zayed Khan and Vatsal Sheth in Haasil. This was her last television appearance.
Gharat Ganapati is set to hit the screens on July 26 this year. The film also stars famous Marathi film actors such as Bhushan Pradhan, Ashish Pathode, Pari Telang, Sameer Khandekar, Rupesh Bane, Rajasi Bhave, Sharad Bhutadia, Sushama Deshpande, Sanjay Mone, Shubhangi Latkar, Shubhangi Gokhale, Ajinkya Deo and Ashvini Bhave in prominent roles.
Gharat Ganpati is directed by Navjyot Narendra Bandiwadekar, produced by Namrata Bandiwadekar and Navjyot Bandiwadekar, and co-produced by Sandeep Kale. The film is a Navigns production which went on floors in December last year.
