Thunderbolts has been touted as the climax of Marvel’s Phase 5 of the Multiverse Saga. It is speculated to witness the return of several previous antagonists and anti-heroes from earlier Marvel movies and Disney+ series. Additionally, Julia Louis-Dreyfus is set to star in the film, which is presently under production. For Marvel, she appeared in Black Widow’s post-credit scene in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and then she starred in major roles of Valentina Allegra de Fontaine in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Now, the Seinfeld and Veep star has a much-needed update for us.
Louis-Dreyfus recently disclosed that work on Thunderbolts has come to an end. She first announced her involvement in the film last year. “Yes,” Louis-Dreyfus replied in response to Variety’s question on whether or not she had completed Thunderbolts production.
She went on to say in a lighthearted manner that signing an NDA in the Marvel Universe is like “signing your life away.”
In response to the question of whether she had any stunts in the movie, she quipped, “So, if I say anything to you right now, I will be executed by the universe.” Last year on the Jimmy Kimmel Show, Louis-Dreyfus claimed, “I actually can, I’m going to be in Thunderbolts.”
She said, “Yeah, good guys are doing bad or bad guys are doing good,” before dispelling the idea that her character is a simple “bad guy.” Louis-Dreyfus pointed out that she is a little bit of both and that she walks the edge between good and bad. Louis-Dreyfus was not quite sure about it.
The current date for Marvel’s Thunderbolts to debut is May 5, 2025. The planned release date of the movie was July 26, 2024. However, the publication was delayed owing to the writers’ and artists’ strike. The film was supposed to begin primary photography in June.
The movie will now feature an asterisk next to its title, according to Kevin Feige, who made the announcement during CinemaCon 2024. However, he stressed that viewers will have to wait for the film to understand its full significance.
Marvel Studios’ future schedule of films includes Deadpool & Wolverine (July 26), Avengers 5 (nèe The Kang Dynasty, May 1, 2026), The Fantastic Four (July 25, 2025), Captain America: Brave New World (February 14, 2025), Blade (November 7, 2025), and Avengers: Secret Wars (May 7, 2027).
