In the meantime, the makers have also released the film’s trailer. It begins with Alia Bhatt’s character receiving a late-night call informing her that her brother, Ankur (played by Vedang Raina), has been arrested. Confused and concerned, she asks if he’s done anything wrong or if his blood tests will be clean. The scene then shifts to Ankur in a foreign courtroom, struggling to understand the language as he’s taken into custody.

Determined to save her brother, Alia embarks on a mission, willing to do whatever it takes. She even contemplates self-harm in a bid to force the authorities to let her visit him, but her requests are repeatedly denied. As the trailer escalates, we see Alia perform daring stunts, evading guards and facing obstacles at every step as she fights to save her brother, who is being tortured in jail. Despite the constant challenges, she refuses to give up.

In a separate interview, director Vasan Bala revealed his frustration with how the film’s script was sent to Alia Bhatt. Speaking to Tried and Refused Productions, Bala said, “I had written a very kachha pakka email, stream of consciousness thoughts… sent it to Karan, and 6-7 hours later, he called saying that I have already sent it to Alia, and I was really not happy with it.”

“I was like I would have at least done some spell check, grammar check, hygiene, written some very nice hero entry… That email was sent and I asked Karan, ‘Why did you do this?’ He said ‘No, no this is how it works.’ Then he said we’ll meet in a couple of days,” he recalled. Alia herself mentioned that she liked the film from the first half alone.
