Jaideep Ahlawat Praises Vijay Varma's Performance in IC814: 'Not Easy To Sit On Chair And Shoot...'
Jaideep Ahlawat was all praise for old friend and actor Vijay Varma.

Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat, who have known each other since their FTII days, have always shared a deep admiration for each other’s work. In their recent interview together, they reflected on their friendship and lauded each other’s acting prowess.

When asked about his favourite performance of Vijay, Jaideep expressed his admiration for several characters and told The Hollywood Reporter, “Gully Boy, I loved it, every single frame, Dahaad… but in IC814 what I realized, it’s so difficult to play it, you know why, because in the whole film you are sitting on one seat, it’s not easy to handle that job that you are sitting on the chair and shooting for 6-7 Episodes, and I didn’t realized this while watching it, it’s not easy to play that character.”

Vijay shared how Jaideep has always supported him, saying, “He has been a part of every film screening and premiere I’ve ever had.” The camaraderie between Vijay and Jaideep is evident, not just in their conversations but also in the way they support each other’s journeys in the industry. As they continue to carve their paths in cinema, their friendship remains a testament to the bonds formed during their early days at FTII, proving that true connections last well beyond the screen.

Vijay Varma will next be seen in Ul Jalool Ishq, a drama co-starring Naseeruddin Shah. The premise is about an Urdu letterpress owner searching for a reclusive poet. Speaking about the project, Vijay recently told Variety, “It’s a beautiful, intimate story between one person who runs a barely surviving Urdu [press] and he wants to desperately hold on to this letterpress, but nothing is getting printed anymore in Urdu.”

He is also shooting for Matka King, a Prime Video original series set in the 1960s and 70s. Speaking of Matka King, Vijay told Variety, “It’s the rise of a very interesting business, at the same time, an individual who found a certain kind of a loophole in a system and tried to make a lot of money through it.”

Meanwhile, Jaideep will be next seen in the much-anticipated sequel of Prime Video India’s crime show Paatal Lok season 2. He will also be seen in Ikkis with Dharmendra and Agastya Nanda.
