IBNLive Movie Awards: Sarah Jane Dias roots for 'Masaan' but Vicky Kaushal wants 'Angry Indian Goddesses' to win Best Film

There is a lot in common between ‘Zubaan’ stars Sarah Jane Dias and Vicky Kaushal. Both have the urge to do something creative. Both have the potential and drive to experiment with new roles. And both made significant contribution to the showbiz industry which is why their films ‘Angry Indian Goddesses’ and ‘Masaan’ made it to the Best Film category of the third edition of IBNLive Movie Awards.

Even though ‘Angry Indian Goddesses’ and ‘Masaan’ have been pitted against each other in the Best Film category, actors Sarah and Vicky root for their 'favourite' films of 2015.

For the uninitiated, debutant director Neeraj Ghaywan’s ‘Masaan’ was classic in its own way. With a story that revolved around the burning ghats of Varanasi, the film promised to offer something different and striking to the viewers. Even as it declared the advent of fresh talents - writer and director, it showed what effective storytelling is all about.

Director Pan Nalin’s ‘Angry Indian Goddesses’ had multiple stereotypes, but this film, which was referred to as ‘India’s first female buddy movie’ was very refreshing. In addition to natural performances by the cast, the director’s ability to use humor and pity even as it put forth relevant questions was impressive.
