Anchor-turned-actress Anasuya Bhardwaj is one of the most popular names in South cinema. She is widely known for her projects on television and in movies. Anasuya is currently considered one of the most successful actresses in the Telugu industry. She has gained popularity with her tremendous performance in the superhit Telugu shows. According to reports, the actress started her career as a supporting actor. She first worked in the Telugu-language political action film Naaga, released in 2003. Anasuya was seen in an uncredited role as a law college student. As per the report, the actress got only Rs 500 for her role in the movie.
After this, Anasuya started her journey on television. She made her television debut as a host with the sketch comedy television show Jabardasth. She appeared in the show for the next nine years but left it in 2022 and became completely active in films.
She made her debut as the lead actress in 2016 with the Telugu-language mystery thriller film Kshanam, Ravikanth Perepu directed the movie and also featured Adivi Sesh and Adah Sharma in lead roles. The movie was a success and was later remade in Tamil as Sathya (2017), in Hindi as the action film Baaghi 2 (2018), and in Kannada as Aadyaa (2020).
After this, the actress never looked back; she worked on various popular movies like F2: Fun and Frustration, Meeku Maathrame Cheptha, Thank You, Brother, Pushpa: The Rise, and Rangamarthanda, to name a few.
She was recently seen in the epic historical action drama film Razakar. The movie was written and directed by Yata Satyanarayana and was based on the events leading to Operation Polo in the erstwhile princely state of Hyderabad.
Currently, she is busy with the Allu Arjun-starrer’s upcoming film Pushpa 2, which will release on August 15. She is all set to reprise the role of Dakshinayani in Pushpa’s sequel, Pushpa 2: The Rule. In this, she will once again be seen playing the role of a dreaded villain as Dakshayani, Mangalam Srinu’s wife.
She also has the upcoming Tamil film, Flashback, in her pipeline.
