The past two weeks have been tough for the makers of 'Udta Punjab'. From a much public fight with CBFC over certification to taking the board to the court to getting the certificate on time for a release to dealing with piracy, troubles never seem to end for those associated with the film.
Almost all of B-Town urged fans not to watch the leaked film that was available two days before the film release date. From Shahid Kapoor to Shilpa Shetty, everyone has urged people to not download and share the film which has a watermark that reads 'For Censor' splashed across. Now, the film's producer Anurag Kashyap has issued a statement urging fans to curb their curiosity for two more days and not download the film.
"Wait till Saturday which is the day you would normally download a film," Kashyap's statement on Facebook reads. "Piracy happens because of lack of access and in a world of free internet,I do not have a problem with it. My problem is that this time its a case of vested interests trying to demoralise people from fighting for their rights. So all downloaders of 'Udta Punjab' , I urge, wait till Saturday till you decide to not pay for the film, don't download and share, curb the curiosity for two more days," the statement further said.
