Following the tremendous success of RRR, Jr NTR is back on the screens with Devara: Part 1. The movie has been generating excitement since its announcement and it is already dominating the box office with its advance ticket sales worldwide. According to Pinkvilla reports, the film’s opening day ticket sales have crossed the Rs 80-crore mark. Out of this total collection, Rs 49 crore has been collected from India, while the international market contributes Rs 31 crore.
Meanwhile, the response in Andhra Pradesh is stronger than other states and NTR fans in North America have also been showing remarkable support. With ongoing bookings and positive reviews, these figures are expected to rise even further.
Other than Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka is another strong market, where pre-sales are looking impressive and Sacnilk estimates that the movie has the potential to earn over Rs 10 crore. In Tamil Nadu and Kerala, Devara is expected to open with around Rs 3 crore. However, ticket sales in northern India are not promising, as the Hindi version is expected to earn around Rs 5-6 crore on its opening day. Despite this, the film — also starring Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor — has the potential to become the second biggest opener of 2024, after Kalki 2898 AD, featuring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan.
To attract a massive audience and create box office history, the makers of Devara: Part 1 have decided to extend its theatrical release. While most films typically screen for about 4-5 weeks, the team behind Jr NTR’s latest movie aims to keep it in theatres for at least 50 days, or roughly 7-8 weeks. Previously, Kalki 2898 AD ran for nearly 8 weeks and set impressive box office records. It appears that the Devara team is following a similar path. They plan to release the film on OTT platforms only after the 50 day theatrical run, which provides audiences enough time to enjoy the action packed thriller on the big screen.
As per Aakashavaani’s Instagram post, “Makers of Devara going for a proper 50 days theatrical window. Film will not have a digital release before 50 days of theatrical release. So, watch it in theatres.”

Other than Devara, Jr NTR will soon start working on Devara Part 2, followed by YRF’s War 2 with Hrithik Roshan and an untitled project with Prashanth Neel.
