Is BTS going to Hollywood? This is the question fans are asking all over social media after spotting promotional posters of “BTS x DM4". All set to take audiences on a wild adventure with Gru and his family, Illumination’s Despicable Me 4 returns for a new era of Minions mayhem. While the trailer for the film is already out, a fresh development connects it to K-pop sensation, BTS.
Several pictures have surfaced on the internet, where ARMYs spotted the surprising “BTS-DM4" texts on colourful posters across the streets in Los Angeles. Written in black, purple, and yellow hearts, the poster seems to be an official advertisement marking BTS’s new collaboration for the film. The bottom of the poster reads, “Despicable Me 4 ⓒ 2024 Universal City Studios LLC. BTS ⓒ BIGHIT MUSIC & HYBE. All Rights Reserved."

Shocked and equally surprised, fans were left wondering if they would be getting a new OT7 song in the coming days, considering six of the group’s members are set to complete their military service. While a confirmed update is yet to be received in this regard, BTS could possibly collaborate with Pharell Williams for the film’s soundtrack.
According to Koreaboo, the singer-songwriter who wrote and produced the song Happy for Despicable Me 2, has returned for the fourth part. Talking about BTS, the band’s eldest member, Jin has been discharged after completing his military service. The other six, including J-Hope, V, RM, Jimin, Jungkook and Suga, are still serving and are all expected to reunite in June 2025.
Despicable Me 4
The next installment in the supervillain franchise, Despicable Me 4, is one of the highly anticipated films on Universal’s calendar. While the exact plot is not clear yet, the film is expected to focus on the relationship between Gru and his young son.
The trailer shows Gru and Lucy coping with their married life as parents with the arrival of Gru Jr. Adding more to their troubles, the trailer shows the escape of villain Maxime Le Mal, who forces Gru and his clan to go hiding. After the first film came out in 2010, the following success also performed well, alongside two prequels, Minions and Minions: The Rise of Gru. Despicable Me 4 will be released on July 3, 2024.
