There’s thrilling news for fans of Dong Young-bae, better known by his stage name Taeyang or SOL. The South Korean singer, who is also a member of the K-pop boy band BIGBANG, is set to host a solo concert for the first time in nearly seven years. On July 15, his official label, THEBLACKLABEL, shared the poster for the TAEYANG 2024 TOUR titled THE LIGHT YEAR in Seoul on its official social media channels. The poster features a close-up of Taeyang, gazing into the camera. This upcoming concert marks Taeyang’s first solo performance since 2017.
The idol’s fans are excitedly waiting for him to perform live, given his history and record of hit songs and live performances. His concert is a part of an Asia tour which will start with a performance in Seoul.
Taeyang’s solo concert THE LIGHT YEAR will take place twice at the Olympic Hall in Seoul on August 31 at 6 p.m. KST and September 1 at 5 p.m. KST. The event also introduces a new FAN and SOUND CHECK EXPERIENCE package. It will offer fans the chance to attend the artist’s sound check, photo benefit, Question & Answer session and more. Ticket reservations for the concert will open at Interpark at 12 p.m. KST on July 17, informs THEBLACKLABEL.

Before this, in 2023, Taeyang released his second EP Down to Earth which featured his hit tracks like VIBE, Shoong! and Seed. Additionally, he also appeared on the reality show Mnet’s I-LAND second season which aired on April 18th, 2024 and concluded on July 4. In the show, he served as the main producer for the division tasked with selecting the debut group from 24 applicants. He gained praise for providing warm and incisive feedback to the contestants.
Taeyang, 36, made his debut in 2006 as a member of the band BigBang. After the release of several albums and extended plays with his group, Taeyang went on to pursue a solo career in 2008 and released his first extended play titled Hot.
