Atif Aslam is very popular Pakistani singer and enjoys a huge fan following across the globe. Well, soon he will be making comeback to Bollywood after seven years and the news has surely left all his fans super excited. His voice will be heard in an upcoming romantic drama titled Lovestoryof 90’S. The film is directed by Amit Kasaria and in a conversation with Hindustan Times he opened up on Atif Aslam’s returning to Bollywood.
He said, “Someone had to take the initiative and bring love to the table. I knew many people might troll me, but I had to do it.” The director revealed that his team wanted a “flagship” song, and Atif seemed a good fit for the romantic duet. “It’s about this man who wants to live an innocent life and wants to fall in love.” According to him, if Aslam hadn’t liked the idea, he would’ve never engaged with his. “I mailed him that it is a matter of friendship between the countries. Atif did his research. Considering he spoke to me, meant he liked the song. I told him I had very limited time to shoot,” Kasaria said.
“Atif flew all the way to another city to record the song despite being unwell. It was a beautiful gesture,” he added.
To note, India has banned Pakistani artists from working or performing following the Uri attack in 2016. However, in 2023, the ban was lifted.
Last year in October, during a performance in the United States, a fan threw money at Atif Aslam, but it was the singer’s heartwarming response that captured the internet’s heart. The singer stopped the show mid-way and called the fan up to the stage. The singer said, “My friend, Donate this money, don’t throw it at me, this is just disrespect to the money.” Atif Aslam is known for songs like Jeena Jeena, Main Agar and others.
