Anya Taylor-Joy Spills Beans On Her 'Top Secret Role' In Dune Part 2

Denis Villeneuve’s upcoming film Dune: Part 2 is one of the hotly-anticipated releases of 2024. Boasting a cast ensemble of Tmothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, and more, the audience is waiting with bated breaths to watch the star-studded members unleash their best on the big screens. Now, adding to the ‘Joy’ comes the confirmation of another acclaimed female actress in the sci-fi adventure flick. Queen’s Gambit and The Witch fame Anya Taylor-Joy has been roped in to play a crucial role in Dune: Part 2. But her character is shrouded in secrecy to add an element of intrigue among the masses.

Earlier, rumours were abuzz of Anya Taylor-Joy’s inclusion in Dune: Part 2, but it was only recently that it was confirmed. According to a report by Variety, the actress will be making a special appearance in the film, but the makers are unwilling to reveal anything about her character, fuelling curiosity. At Dune: Part 2’s London premiere on February 15, Anya Taylor-Joy surprised the masses by joining the other cast members on the sand-dune red carpet. The Golden Globe winner was dressed in a unique white ensemble featuring a veil, underling the mystery of her role.

In an interview that streamed on the official TikTok handle of Warner Bros, Anya Taylor-Joy confirmed being associated with Dune: Part 2. When the host Yinka Bokinni wanted to know Anya’s reaction to joining the Dune franchise, the actress admitted that it was a “dream come true” moment for her. “The books are incredible, but with this cast and with Denis, it doesn’t get any better than that,” she said. Expressing confidence in the director, Anya gave a positive review of the film, claiming that Dube: Part 2 was “one of the best movies” she had ever seen. “Genuinely, Denis has killed it,” she added.

Dune: Part 2 is the sequel to the 2021 film Dune. The story picks up from the previous segment, exploring Paul Atreides’ (Timothee Chalamet) mythic journey. He unites with Chani (Zendaya) and the Fremen walking on a dangerous path of revenge, against the enemies who ruined his family. Atreides embarks on a mission to prevent a destructive future while being forced to choose between the love of his life and the fate he was meant to tread upon. Dune: Part 2 releases theatrically on March 15.
