Anupamaa: Aashish Mehrotra QUITS Rupali Ganguly's Show, Says 'Thank You For Hating Me'
Aashish Mehrotra thanked audiences for "hating" his character and assured them that they would see him soon.

Aashish Mehrotra, who used to play the role of Toshu in Anupamaa, has quit the popular show. On Thursday, the actor took to his Instagram handle to announce the same. He shared a series of pictures from the sets of Anupamaa and penned down an emotional note.

In one of the pictures, Aashish was seen posing with his on-screen mother, Rupali Ganguly. Another photo featured the actor dancing with Alpana Buch. Nidhi Shah and Gaurav Khanna, who play the roles of Kinjal and Anuj Kapadia respectively, can also be seen posing with Aashish in other photos.

In the caption of his post, Aashish penned down an emotional note and talked about his 4-year-long journey as Toshu. “It was a beautiful beautiful journey… a beautiful journey of almost 4 years as your “Toshu” in Anupamaa… The character being just the opposite of who I am as a person… has made it more challenging and fun to live with.. It has been a huge roller coaster ride.. But whatttt a ride!!!” he wrote.

“From a topper in college – mba gold medalist, most loved son being the 1st born, then the rebel child, drunkard, bhaag kar shaadi karne waala lover, saas ka ghulaam- ghar jamai, selfish money lover, loving brother, comic property dealer to being bed ridden after a stroke.. apne bacchi chura kar bhag gaya tha… kyaaa kyaa nahi kiyaa hai yaar in this journey… Toshus love for his father was the most special thing to me in this journey.. It brings tears instantly… It’s all so overwhelming,” the actor added.

Aashish further thanked audiences for “hating” his character and assured them that they would see him soon. “I found some amazing people through this journey who will stay with me for life… and to my audience my second family – thank you for hating me soo much that I could feel your love and connect with me always. You guys will see me soon in some other roop or maybe the real me…Seeking your acceptance, love, blessings forever. Signing off with tons of gratitude,” he concluded.

Soon after the post was shared, Aashish’s co-star Gaurav Khanna took to the comments section to wish him luck. “All the very best bro. U were awesome. Glad to get to know and work with you on this fabulous journey called “Anupamaa” . TC champ. ,” he wrote. Alpana Buch also commented, “Achhe logo ke saath achha hi hota hai.All the best. I know you will make me proud in future ♥️♥️♥️.”
