Anupam Kher, Boman Irani’s Khosla Ka Ghosla To Re-Release In Theatres On October 18

After the re-release of films such as Laila Majnu, Rockstar, Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, Veer-Zaara and Tumbbad, the comedy-drama film Khosla Ka Ghosla directed by Dibakar Banerjee in 2006 is set to return to the theatres on October 18. Khosla Ka Ghosla has achieved cult status over the years with its realistic humour and satire. The film is counted among the most notable family dramas in the history of Bollywood with its dialogues and scenes becoming content for comedians and memes to the day.

KKG was led by Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Parvin Dabas, Vinay Pathak, Ranvir Shorey and Tara Sharma in lead roles. The story revolved around a middle-aged man played by Anupam Kher whose dreams of constructing a family home are dashed after his land is illegally occupied by property thug Khurana. The latter half showcased the family’s scheme to regain the land. It was creatively produced by Jaideep Sahni who also took on the role of writer for the film. Additionally, it was produced by Tandav Film Entertainment Pvt Ltd.

Anupam Kher, expressing his excitement for the re-release, said in a statement, “It is such a great feeling to know KKG is releasing again. It has achieved the status of a cult film. Wherever I go, people talk about Khosla ka Ghosla, and its lines are used as memes. I am delighted that it’s being re-released and that the audience will enjoy it all over again,” as quoted by Bollywood Hungama.

Ranvir Shorey, whose role was widely appreciated in the film also shared his feelings, “I am thrilled that Khosla ka Ghosla is getting a re-release almost 18 years after it was first released. I remember that the first time it was released was a difficult task for the producers because it was not a mainstream project, and getting a release was very tough. This time, when it is being released, the film is preceded by its reputation, so it is an exciting time.”

Raaj Hiremath, Director at Tandav Film Entertainment Pvt Ltd added, “Khosla Ka Ghosla is back again in theatres due to demand from the public.! The film KKG had the highest viewership on television a few years ago..! We want screen lovers to now view it with their Families & Friends.”
