Malayalam star Antony Varghese is preparing for the release of his upcoming, highly-anticipated project, Kondal. As per the latest update on the film, the censor board has green-lit the release with a U/A certificate, which is set for a September 13, theatrical debut.
Releasing on the occasion of Onam, Kondal is being made under the direction of Ajit Mampally, a debutant filmmaker. According to more information on the project, the film is set in the backdrop of a coastal region, promising high-octane action sequences. The lead Antony Varghese, who is popular for his rugged roles, is expected to portray a powerful character. Furthermore, he is joined by notable Kannada actor, Raj B Shetty, who is cast in a pivotal role for the release, more information stated.
The plot of the project revolves around a man named Manuel, a man who is unsure about his life path after returning from the Gulf. However, it takes a significant turn when he gets himself embroiled in a conflict with a powerful group.
Kondal is directed by Ajit Mampally, who has co-written its story with Roylin Robert and Satheesh Thonakkal. Apart from Antony Varghese and Raj B Shetty, the cast also includes names like Shabeer Kallarakkal, Nandu, Manikandan Achari, Pramod Valiyanad, Sarath Sabha, Abhiram Radhakrishnan and P N Sunny, Sirajuddin Nasser, Nebish Benson and many others. The film is being produced by Sofia Paul under the Weekend Blockbuster banner. The music is being handled by Sam CS, while the cinematographer is Deepak D Menon and Sreejith Sarang is doing the editing.
Antony Varghese was last seen in Chaavar, which was made under the direction of Tinu Pappachan and written by Joy Mathew. The cast includes Kunchacko Boban, Arjun Ashokan and Antony Varghese. Arun Narayan and Venu Kunnapilly have produced the film under the banners of Arun Narayan Productions and Kavya Film Company. The music was done by Justin Varghese and Jinto George did the cinematography. Nishadh Yusuf is the editor.
