Ali Fazal Joins Samantha Ruth Prabhu For Lead Role In Fantasy Thriller Rakht Brahmand

Ali Fazal who is basking in the success of Mirzapur Season 3, has now reportedly signed the lead role in the upcoming fantasy thriller series, Rakht Brahmand. He will join Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who will also play the lead role in the series. The other members of the cast are Aditya Roy Kapur and Wamiqa Gabbi in key roles. Rakht Brahmand is being helmed by filmmaker duo Raj & DK, known for creating shows like The Family Man, Farzi and Guns and Gulaabs. Rahi Anil Barve, best known for the cult horror film Tumbbad, will be directing the six-part series. It is currently unclear when the show is expected to be released and what is its broad plotline.

According to reports, the entire cast for the show has been finalized, with shooting scheduled to begin next week in Mumbai. IANS reported that Ali Fazal will be working on the series throughout August, alongside completing brief schedules for his other projects. A source known to them said, “Ali Fazal will be shooting for the series through August while also completing small schedules of his other projects.”

The source added that Ali Fazal was eager to sign the project and his role is something that “he has never done before both from a character perspective and also genre-wise.” Along with Rakht Brahmand, Ali Fazal has a line of exciting projects ahead. These include Anurag Basu’s Metro In Dino which is scheduled to release on September 13. The anthology film has an ensemble cast of Sara Ali Khan, Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Pankaj Tripathi and others.

Ali Fazal is also a part of Lahore: 1947, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced by Aamir Khan. The period film centred around the partition of India and Pakistan will be released on January 26, 2025. Ali Fazal has also joined the cast of Thug Life, an Indian gangster film directed by Mani Ratnam. The film has an ensemble cast of established actors from Bollywood and Tamil cinema such as Silambarasan, Trisha Krishnan, Pankaj Tripathi and others.

On his personal front, Ali Fazal and his actor-wife Richa Chadha announced the birth of their first child. The couple confirmed that they welcomed their daughter on July 16.

They shared their daughter’s glimpse on Instagram and wrote, “Doing a collab post to announce the biggest collab of our lives!! We’ve been blessed indeed. Our baby girl continues to keep us very very busy. So Thank you all for your love and blessings.”
