Akshay Kumar and Radhikka Madan will be sharing screen space for the first time in Sarfira. The trailer has already been released and fans are going gaga over it. Well, ahead of the release, Akshay Kumar showered praise on Radhikka’s performance and called it the best. The biopic is all set for release on July 12.
In Sarfira, Radhikka Madan is playing the role of a Maharashtrian girl named Rani. During a screening in Pune, Akshay Kumar praised Radhikka Madan’s performance, he said, “This is the best performance I have ever seen. I don’t know what you all think about her. She is not Maharashtrian, but she has acted like one. She is very well-spoken. Her language was very good and she has gone through whole classes to learn how to speak Marathi and what to say. That is what she has done.”
Sarfira is a Hindi remake of Suriya’s Soorarai Pottru. The film is riding high on its content. Earlier this week Sarfira’s trailer became the most-watched movie trailer in 24 hours of its release on YouTube. And now it has emerged as the most anticipated film on IMDB.
The film takes us through the life of a common man as he navigates the business world by starting a low-cost aviation company. As per the trailer, the film will be a story of a common man’s determination against monetary and societal barriers. Akshay Kumar says in the trailer, “Main aam aadmi ke liye cost nahi, caste barrier bhi todna chahta hoon.”
The original 2020 Tamil drama film was directed by Sudha Kongara and produced by Suriya and Guneet Monga, under their respective banners 2D Entertainment and Sikhya Entertainment. The story was conceptualised and written by Kongara. The film starred Suriya, Aparna Balamurali, and Paresh Rawal, with Mohan Babu, Urvashi, and Karunas amongst others in supporting roles.
Recently, in a conversation with Galatta Plus, she compared both Akshay Kumar and Suriya’s working approaches for the scenes. Sudha was quoted saying, “Akshay sir, he is a far more outgoing and ebullient person compared to Suriya. Suriya is more intense, tight, quite and gives that kind of a performance. The scenes they shot for is so different from each other. The proposal scene that we shot, Akshay is flamboyant, but with Suriya, its lot more reserved. So naturally the characters become different. So it was good for me.”
