Critically acclaimed South cinema actor Siddharth is going to be seen in Kamal Haasan’s much-awaited Indian 2. As per the latest updates, he is also set to work in his upcoming film venture with 8 Thottakkal director Sri Ganesh.
The untitled film will be Siddharth’s 40th project and the director’s third while being their very first collaboration. Sri Ganesh garnered widespread acclaim for his 2017 film 8 Thottakkal, which is also his directorial debut.
The Rang De Basanti actor took to his official Instagram handle to announce the project in a joint post with the makers. The image shared shows the actor with Sri Ganesh and producer Arun Viswa. It is captioned, “We are extremely happy to join hands with @worldofsiddharth for our Production No.2, to be directed by @sristoryteller.”

Fans shared their excitement in the comments section. A user wrote, “Never seen a perfect match of director + Actor + producer !” Another shared, “Impatiently waiting!!” And a third shared, “Best combo.” The film is being produced by Arun Viswa, under the banner of Shanthi Talkies.
In a recent media interaction, director Sri Ganesh spoke about the project. He said, “After making thrillers like 8 Thottakkal and Kuruthi Aattam, I genuinely wanted to do an emotional film devoid of action scenes to reinvent myself as a writer and director.” He further explained why he chose Sidharth for the project, revealing that the actor’s performance in Chithha was the reason.
He added that Chithha released right when he was done with the script of this project. The director stated, “I was so confident that Siddharth would be the right actor to carry this subject.”
Siddharth was last seen in Chithha which is helmed as well as written by S U Arun Kumar. It stars Siddharth and Nimisha Sajayan as the leads. It is produced by Siddharth under the banner of Etaki Entertainment. The film was released on September 28, 2023. Some of his upcoming projects include Kamal Haasan starrer Indian 2 and Test. The former is set to release on July 12, this year.
