The popular SBS Korean drama Flex x Cop has captivated audiences with its gripping storyline. Exciting news awaits fans even before the conclusion of its first season, as the production team has officially announced the highly anticipated second season. According to reports from Soompi on March 18, a representative of the show confirmed that Season 2 is already in development. Screenwriter Kim Ba Da is currently crafting the script, while discussions are underway with both main and supporting cast members, including actors Ahn Bo Hyun and Park Ji Hyun, to coordinate schedules for their involvement in the upcoming season.
The representative confirmed saying, “We are positively discussing Season 2, while while sorting out schedules,” as per Soompi.
The plot of Flex x Cop centers around Jin Yi Soo (played by Ahn Bo Hyun), who is accustomed to a life of luxury and is a third-generation chaebol (a large industrial South Korean conglomerate run and controlled by an individual or family). He unexpectedly has to play the role of a detective. He becomes embroiled in a case that challenges him and joins the violent investigative team at the Kangha Police Station, specialising in catching robbers, with the intent of leveraging his wealth and connections to aid in his investigations.
Alongside him is Lee Kang Hyun (played by Park Ji Hyun), a dedicated veteran detective who is also the first female team leader in the Homicide Department. Yi Soo initially faces resistance from Kang Hyun, who is unimpressed by his privileged background.
Upon its release, the crime drama received positive acclaim, commencing with an average nationwide rating of 5.7 per cent and soaring to an impressive peak of 11 per cent, as reported by Soompi.
Apart from the two main leads, Flex x Cop season 1 also featured Yoon Yoo-sun, Kwak Si-yang, Kim Myung-soo, Jung Ga-hee, Kim Shin-bi, Kwon Hae-hyo and Jang Hyun-sung in major roles.
The first season of Flex x Cop is set to conclude on March 23.
