Yogakshema Sabha flays remarks

PATHANAMTHITTA: The Yogakshema Sabha has condemned the alleged defamatory remarks on Brahmin community members in the Malayalam question papers prepared under the education project in Palakkad district.An emergency meeting of the Sabha on Tuesday, chaired by president Akeeramon Kalidasa Bhattathiri, has protested against the manner in which the question papers were prepared under the special education project, jointly sponsored by the Palakkad District Panchayat and the DIET.The remark on "Shantis’’ and temple "Oorazhmas’’ was derogatory and deplorable, Akeeramon said.The Sabha also criticised the casual manner in which TV serials and short films depict temple practices involving ‘shantis’. The Sabha will launch an agitation if the present practice of defaming the community in the public is not stopped, Akeeramon said. Sabha secretary Kakkad Parameswaran Nampoothiri presented the report.
