Woman dies post delivery in MKCG

BERHAMPUR: Situation was tense at the MKCG Medical on Saturday following death of a woman allegedly due to medical negligence.A pregnant woman Rita Sahu was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday and had delivered a baby boy. She was, however, not keeping well after the delivery. Her husband Debaraj said despite informing the doctors in-charge, none attended on her on Friday night when her condition deteriorated.She died on Saturday morning. The irate relatives of Rita then staged an agitation at the gynaecology ward.Meanwhile, Medical authorities in the ward said that the allegation was baseless. They said Rita suffered from infection and hepatitis. The complications had developed into Septisemia and despite treatment she died, they said.
