HUBLI: Former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa who had been lobbying for either the CM’s or party chief post and who had locked horns with BJP state president K S Eshwarappa, stated that he was just a BJP worker, and giving him a key post was left to the party high command. Interacting with reporters in Hubli, Yeddyurappa, who had earlier set a deadline of Makara Sankranti to the party high command for a key post, and had hinted at political polarisation, seemed mellow and stated he would shoulder any responsibility given to him. There are no differences in the party, he said, but added that though he was only an assembly member, people had high regards for him as was evident by the crowds wherever he visited.Yeddyurappa also clarified that his politics would be confined to the state and that he would not be touring any of the five states which were heading for elections. He expressed confidence that the NDA would strengthen following the elections, asserting that there would be political polarisation in those states as well. Yeddyurappa said he would tour the state after Makara Sankranti to highlight the achievements of the BJP state government.“Chief Minister D V Sadanand Gowda and party president would select the candidate for the Udupi Lok Sabha byelection. After the selection of the candidate we will all work in a united for his victory,” he added.
