New Delhi: A week before Norwegian gunman Anders Behring Breivik allegedly pulled off one of history's worst mass shootings on Friday night, he posted a telling quote on a Twitter account attributed to him.
The 32-year-old quoted philosopher John Stuart Mill: "One person with a belief is equal to the force of 100,000 who have only interests." The profile picture on the account is of a blonde and blue-eyed man.
Although it has just the one tweet from July 17, his follower count went up overnight to over 1000.
Dressed as a police officer, Breivik gunned down over 90 people at an island youth retreat before being arrested, police said Saturday. Investigators are still searching the surrounding waters, where people fled the attack, which followed an explosion in nearby Oslo that killed seven.
With the blast outside the prime minister's office, they formed the deadliest day of terror in Western Europe since the 2004 Madrid train bombings killed 191.
Breivik's Facebook profile is no longer available but screenshots of his page saved by various media organizations before it was pulled down show the same image as his profile picture in the popular social networking site as well.
On Facebook he describes himself as a single male, a Christian conservative with an interest in hunting.
The alleged profile on Facebook also lists him as the director of a firm called 'Breivik Geofarm' and listed Oslo Handelsgymnasium as his high school.
National police chief Sveinung Sponheim said that the suspected gunman's Internet postings "suggest that he has some political traits directed toward the right, and anti-Muslim views, but whether that was a motivation for the actual act remains to be seen."
Andersen said the suspect posted on websites with Christian fundamentalist tendencies. He did not describe the websites in any more details.
On his Facebook page, Breivik said he is a fan of the games World of Warcraft and Modern Warfare 2 and likes body-building and freemasonry.
He seemed to have posted several YouTube links for trance music.
