New Delhi: A Delhi Court on Friday hit out the Central Bureau of Investigation over missing files in the Birla Hindalco closure report that was filed in August. The CBI had informed the court that the original minutes of screening committee meetings which dealt with Birla-owned Hindalco's application were missing.
"What was the hurry to close case against industrialist Kumar Mangalam Birla and others in coal block allocation scam," the Delhi court asked the CBI.
The Court has asked for the case diary and police report on the case. It has also asked the supervising officer to be present in court for the hearing on Friday.
The CBI in its closure report, had given a clean chit to Hindalco owner Kumar Mangalam Birla and said that no criminality was found against him.
