New Delhi: A local Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader was on Friday killed by suspected Maoists in Balarampur area of Purulia district in West Bengal.
A group of 7 to 8 unidentified assailants raided the house of Jitu Singh Sardar and strangulated him to death.
The victim was an active member of the committee to resist anti-development activities in Jungalmahal area.
Incident happened late on Thursday night. This is the third incident of TMC activist being killed by suspected Maoists in the last 3 months.
After this incident, Mamata said she will have to now review the decision of suspending anti-maoist joint force operation in Jungalmahal belt.
