A New York City taxi driver says he isn't to blame for the crash that cost a British tourist her leg despite the aid of bystanders including TV's Dr Oz. Mohammed Fasyal Himon said on Friday he was "very sorry" about the accident.
But he blamed a cyclist who pounded on his car and yelled at him for causing the crash. British tourist Sian Green was hit at Rockefeller Center on Tuesday. She lost one leg below the knee in the accident. One of Green's doctors says she is likely to regain use of the other leg with physical therapy.
Fernando Mateo of the New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers joined Himon to announce the creation of a fund to ease Green's medical expenses. They have raised USD 3,000 so far.
