HYDERABAD: The cyber crime police on Friday arrested two persons, including a woman, for duping unemployed youth by promising them jobs and collecting money from them.
According to the police, K Srilakshmi and G Anand, posed as consultants and took Rs 1.6 lakhs from an engineering graduate promising him a job at IBM. The accused, both residents of Visakhapatnam, were helped by Reddipalli Nagasrinivas alias Vinod Chowdary, Chinta Kiran, Rishi Reddy alias Gautham and Praveen. These four are absconding.

The Cyber Crime wing received the complaint from the victim on November 23 last year. The youth said that Srilakshmi had contacted him over phone and emails and even sent an offer letter through the email id '[email protected];. Believing it to be true the victim transferred Rs 1.6 lakh towards processing charges into one the accused's bank account. But when he failed to get the job, he realised he had been duped.

Others involved in the scam even conducted fake HR interviews for the victims in a building Pune IBM logo in Pune," said U Rammohan, superintendent of police, Cyber Crime.
