Mumbai: A sessions court has directed playback singer Adnan Sami and his estranged wife Sabah Galadari to settle their matrimonial dispute amicably. Sabah has accused Sami of torturing her.

Hearing the anticipatory bail of plea Sami and his parents, the court also gave the singer protection against arrest till May 15 when the matter would be heard again.

Fearing arrest in a case by Sabah; Sami, his mother and ailing father, who is undergoing treatment in K A Ambani Hospital, had sought anticipatory bail. Sabah has alleged she was harassed by her husband and in-laws.

Additional sessions Judge C A Jadhav, hearing the plea of Sami family, suggested both sides sit together and solve their issues as this was a matrimonial dispute that has arisen due to personal differences between the husband and the wife.

“Please do not expose each other in public. Why can't you both sit together, try to resolve issues and work out a settlement to solve the financial dispute,” the judge said.

Sami told the judge that “I would like to settle the dispute at the earliest and am ready to sit across tables with her (Sabah) and find out a solution.”
