HYDERABAD: Traffic restrictions have been imposed on all the roads leading to Tank Bund and adjoining areas in view of Ganesh idols immersion between September 7 and 11. The restrictions would be in force from 3 pm on the said days.Traffic police advised citizens to avoid travel through the Khairatabad junction, particularly between 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., till the Ganesh immersion procession completes on September 11.Additional Commissioner of Police (traffic) C V Anand said there has been heavy pedestrian traffic and parking by devotees coming to see the idol immersion at Khairatabad and the number of idols coming from NTR Marg and Upper Tank Bund for immersion in the Hussainsagar is on the rise.“In view of this, commuters are advised to avoid travel through the Khairathabad junction. The Khairatabad flyover-NTR Marg and Khairatabad junction-Shadan college-Nirankari road will be heavily congested till the end of idol immersion between 4 p.m. to 11 a.m.,’’ Anand said.Commuters are advised to use the Begumpet route or the Masabtank - Bazarghat route to reach their destinations, said the police officer.
