USA: Some find them creepy, others fascinating. But nobody would think these amphibians are vanishing!

A shocking report by the Global Amphibian Assessment says 70 species of frogs have disappeared from the Central and South American forests because of global warming.

The warming had earlier wiped out some species of frogs from Latin America as well.

The report says climate changes are creating ideal conditions for a deadly fungus, which is eliminating the amphibians and warm temperatures and shortage of food is worsening the situation.

The Global Amphibian Assessment report shows nearly a third of the world's 6,000 or so species of frogs, toads and salamanders are in danger of extinction.
