Temple hundial broken, cash looted near Arcot

VELLORE: A temple door was broken open and cash from the hundial was looted near Arcot on Saturday night. The amount of cash looted is yet to be ascertained.The incident came to light on Sunday morning, when  temple priest Srinivasan came to the temple to conduct Pujas. Mani (52) of Kalliyur Pudhupet and Kumar (35) of Kalliyur near Natrampalli, had already been arrested several times in the past for selling illicit liquor.Due to this, Vellore SP Kayalvizhi suggested that Collector Ajay Yadav book them under the Goondas Act. 3 Held for ForgeryVellore: Three persons were held for preparing forged documents and grabbing land, near Yelagiri, on Saturday.Kamalammal (65) of Yelagiri Mettu Kazhaniyur near Tiruppattur, owned 1.20 acres of land, estimated at around `1.25 crore. She was shocked upon finding out that Jayaraman (42), Nagamani (32) and Venkatachalam (28) of the same area had forged her land documents. Based on her complaint, Yelagiri police Anandbabu, arrested the three people and are conducting an investigation  in connection with this case.
