HYDERABAD: Telangana Congress leaders wound up the 48-hour ‘Deeksha’ in the wake of the bomb blasts in Mumbai. Freedom fighter Konda Laxman Bapuji offered juice to the leaders to call off their hunger strike - 12 hours before the scheduled end.“I urge the Central government to take a favourable decision. There are no separate groups in Telangana Congress. In the wake of Mumbai bomb blasts we have decided to call off the Deeksha now,’’ senior Telangana Congress leader and minister K Jana Reddy said. He demanded the Congress Central leadership to take steps for early formation of Telangana state if it wants to strengthen the party in the state.Senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member K Keshava Rao said that he has told to the party high command either to give Telangana state or allow them to fight on the issue along with the TRS.Meanwhile, TRS supremo K Chandrasekhara Rao who has come to extend solidarity to the T Congress leaders, asserted that “the merger of Telangana with Andhra Pradesh was neither unconditional nor it was considered eternal”.
