Kolkata: Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee's health condition is stable and he is gradually improving, according to the latest medical bulletin.
The bulletin, issued by the Belle Vue clinic, where Banerjee underwent a surgery last Tuesday for "orbital floor fracture" suffered during a car accident, said Abhishek, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's nephew, "is maintaining his vitals well and is stable".
It said the surgeons and Dr Sukumar Mukherjee visited Banerjee last evening and, after a thorough check-up, confirmed that progress was satisfactory and as per expectations.
"His eye movements are improving and, simultaneously, pain and swelling in and surrounding the eyes are gradually reducing. Both appetite and mobility are also improving," the bulletin read.
However, the date of his discharge is still not being discussed and would be taken up in due course, Belle Vue Clinic CEO P Tondon said.
Banerjee's car had met with an accident on the National Highway-2 near Singur in Hooghly district on October 18.
