Sayani Das, a girl from an ordinary middle-class family in Kalna town of East Burdwan, has set out to conquer the North Channel. According to reports, she started swimming at an early age and initially her father taught her. Since childhood, she decided to become a swimmer. She has developed herself as a swimmer through hard training. Sayani’s dream is to conquer Sapta Sindhu. Previously, Saini conquered the English Channel, Catalina, Molokai, and the Cook Strait. Sayani Das has won four channels out of seven till now. Currently, remaining are the North Channel, Sugarloaf, and Gibraltar. This time, Sayani Das took a flight on Thursday evening to win the fifth Sindh of the Seven Sindh, the North Channel. In a recent media interaction, she said, “The North Channel is the coldest among Sapts industries. Because that’s why I’ve been taking ice baths since May. Because there is a lot of difference between the temperature of India and the temperature there. Since I am going twenty days early, I will try to get some practice there as well.”
Sayani Das is optimistic about winning the North Channel. She had to take out loans to finance several large sums of money. She regretfully said, “I never got the support of the administrative officials before leaving, but after coming, there are a lot of flowers and garlands. It is very disappointing that we are treated like this in a place like India.”
Sayani Das is always positive before every channel wins. Similarly, this time too, Sayani is working on a different excitement to win the North Channel. Winning the North Channel is a big challenge for her. That’s because not only India, but no one in Asia could conquer this fifth channel of Sapta Sindhu. There are also problems with temperature, jellyfish, and currents in the North Channel. If she wins this channel, her name will be written in history as the first female swimmer of India and Asia to do so.
