New Delhi: Shah Rukh Khan has been summoned by a Jaipur trial court for smoking in public. The Bollywood actor was seen smoking during an IPL match on April 8. The cricket match was played as the Sawai Madho Singh stadium. Now, the matter will be heard on May 26.
A complaint was filed in a court against Shah Rukh Khan for publicly smoking during a match between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders.
Lawyer Nem Singh Rathore who filed the complaint on behalf of Jaipur Cricket Academy director Anand Singh Rathore had said to IANS," Smoking publicly is banned in Rajasthan since 2000. However, Shah Rukh Khan was smoking publicly in front of thousands of spectators. The actor was broadcast live while smoking on the TV channel which was showing the match."
The National Organization for Tobacco Eradication had earlier filed a case against superstar Amitabh Bachchan after he was depicted smoking in an advertisement of electrical appliances. That case is still on in the court. (With additional inputs from IANS)
