Srinagar: The 'Karvan-e-Aman' bus service between Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir and Muzaffarabad in Pakistani Kashmir was resumed on Monday after remaining suspended for two weeks.

"Today's bus carried 35 passengers, including 22 Kashmiris going to meet their relatives in Muzaffarabad and 13 residents of Muzaffarabad who returned home," an official said here.

The bus service was started between the two parts of divided Kashmir on April 7, 2005 as part of confidence building measures between India and Pakistan.

The bus service was started to unite members of divided families living on the two sides of the Line of Control (LoC), which is the de facto border between Indian and Pakistan administered parts of divided Kashmir.

The bus service passes through the garrison town of Uri in Baramulla district.
