Srilakshmi asked to file counter affidavit

HYDERABAD: On the request of suspended IAS officer Y Srilakshmi's counsel, Andhra Pradesh High Court judge NRL Nageswara Rao on Friday adjourned the case pertaining to the CBI petition for cancellation of her bail to December 28. The judge, however, directed Srilakshmi's counsel to file the counter affidavit by December 26.It may be recalled that the CBI Special Court at Nampally granted bail to Srilakshmi, who was arrested in connection with the illegal mining case, on December 2. Later, the High Court admitted the CBI's plea to set aside the bail granted to Srilakshmi by the Special Court.Her counsel C Padmanabha Reddy urged the judge to adjourn the case as they could not file the counter petition as the CBI has not furnished all material to them pertaining to the appeal filed by it seeking cancellation of her bail.The judge ordered the respondent to file the counter on Monday. The matter will be heard on December 28.
