KOCHI: Two members of a family were run over by a train near Chowara railway station, near Aluva, on Saturday. The deceased are Fathima, 61, of Mattanchery, and her sister Aasiya, 55, of Chowara.The incident occurred around 8 am when the two were trying to cross the track to board a train to Ernakulam.They died on the spot after being hit by Alappuzha-Dhanbad Express coming from Aluva. Police said the mishap occurred as the women failed to see the approaching train.
