MALKANGIRI: Even as the Maoists have given a call to observe the Independence Day as black day, Labour and Employment Minister Puspendra Singh Deo will unfurl the Tricolour at Malkangiri on Monday. Security has been beefed up in Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada and Gajapati districts ahead of the event. In posters and banners put up at several places in Kalimela, Motu, MV-79, Podia, Chitrakonda, Khairput, Govindpalli in Malkangiri district and Machhkund, Ankadeli, Narayanpatna and Bandhugaon in Koraput district, the rebels have urged people to observe the I-Day as a black day by stating that real freedom still eludes people. Alert has been sounded in the area, people are being frisked at entry and exit points of the district and patrolling intensified.
