Paris: French President Nicolas Sarkozy has threatened to walk out of this month's meeting of the G20 group of nations if no agreement is found on limiting the bonus of executives, the daily Le Figaro reported on Monday.

"If there is no concrete decision, I will leave," said Sarkozy.

The French president already resorted to this dramatic ploy, on the issue of tax havens, before April's G20 meeting in London.

Sarkozy's top adviser Claude Gueant told RTL radio that Sarkozy is "extremely determined" that progress is made on the issue, as well as on other problems associated with the economic crisis, such as international accounting norms and coordinating financial regulation among the different countries.

Gueant said that Sarkozy's threat to walk out of the G20 meeting should be taken seriously.
