Diamond jubilee celebrations of the RTC employees cooperative credit society at RTC kalabhavan on Wednesday came to an abrupt end after a scuffle broke out between directors and delegates of the employees union and the National Mazdoor union.
The APSRTC recognised National Muzdoor union opposed the diamond jubilee celebrations conducted by employees unions, stating that they were throwing away society’s money by spending `3 crore on a celebration, while incurring losses of Rs 2 crore.
Representatives of NMU protested in front of the venure, demanding entry into the place.
They conducted a semi-naked protest in front of RTC Kalabhavan to protest the celebration and their denial of admission.
By this time, the employees union and other unions directors and representatives had come out and entered into a heated argument, with both union members shoving each other.
Later, police entered the scene and dispersed them. Minister for cooperatives Kasu Krishna Reddy, RTC chairman M Satyanarayana, RTC MD AK Khan and cooperative department commissioner P Naresh remained inside the venue while the scuffle took place.
NMU state president M Nageswara Rao alleged though they have 5 directors and 214 representatives of 436 in the cooperative society, they were not allowed into venue.
