For all those with rock & roll ambition, this is your chance.If you’ve been dreaming of screaming fans, big stages, large audiences, but have never ventured beyond your home or garage, this is your platform.Ray-Ban Never Hide Sounds, which kicks off this month and is the nationwide rock band hunt that is targeted at young musicians who’ve never had the opportunity to perform in public before. Bands and musicians interested in participating have to mail their entries along with digital demos [email protected] can also mail physical entries to the contest address.Entries will also be accepted at the Ray-Ban Never Hide Sounds eight city road show which kicks off on 3rd September, 2011. The road show consists of concerts at leading shopping malls in Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Hyderabad and Bengaluru, and Open Mic nights in Mumbai, Delhi, Guwhati and Chennai.The bands who perform will largely be selected from the early entrants to the contest, while the Open Mic nights will be open to all amateur bands and will provide a platform for those who have not entered the contest to showcase their talent. The Hunt will consist of ‘Concerts’ and ‘Open Mic nights’, ‘Concerts’ will include performance of registered bands, while ‘Open Mic nights’ will allow the spot registration for all the amateur bands.Fifteen bands will be shortlisted after evaluating the entrants demo tapes out of which final five bands will be whittled by two-way judging process. The Grand Finale concert will be held on December 4 in Mumbai, where the final five will perform with renowned rock band ‘Pentagram’ and ‘Something Relevant’.The winner will also receive musical instruments and gear worth Rs. 50,000.
