Republic Day 2024: Bengaluru Police Issues Traffic Advisory Ahead Of Celebrations
Bengaluru: Notably, this comes in the week ahead of a major Republic Day event scheduled to take place at the Manekshaw Parade Ground on Friday, where 38 contingents will take part in the celebrations.

As the nation prepares for the 75th Republic Day on Friday, January 26, various cities have implemented traffic restrictions to facilitate the smooth conduct of parades and events. While major parades and official celebrations are scheduled in cities such as Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Mumbai, and Kolkata, the Bengaluru city police have also issued traffic restrictions to ensure unhindered vehicle movement on Friday.

Notably, this comes in the week ahead of a major Republic Day event scheduled to take place at the Manekshaw Parade Ground on Friday, where 38 contingents will take part in the celebrations.

Bengaluru traffic restrictions for Republic Day 2024

As per the latest reports, the Bengaluru city police have issued a traffic advisory stating that vehicle movement will be diverted on Friday on major roads. It has also instructed that all invitees with car passes will need to alight and park their cars at specified places mentioned in the passes.

However, emergency services vehicles like ambulances, water tankers, fire tenders, PWD vehicles, KSRP, CRT, and BBMP will enter the parade ground from Gate No. 2 on Cubbon Road and park their vehicles behind the Fort Wall (Southern Side).

On Friday, the vehicular movement will be diverted from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM in both directions from BRV Jn. to Kamaraj Road Jn. on Cubbon Road. Further, the traffic advisory states that vehicles coming from the Infantry Road towards Manipal Center should go towards Infantry Road Safina Plaza Left turn – Main Guard cross Road – Alies Circle – Dispensary Road – Kamaraja Road & Dickenson Road junction – Right Turn – K.R.Road & Cubbon Road Jn., -Left Turn- Cubbon Road onwards to Manipal Centre Junction.

On the other hand, vehicles coming from Manipal Junction towards BRV Junction on Cubbon Road will be prohibited near Manipal Center and they will need to take right turns near Webbs Jn., and move on M.G.Road – Mayohall Jn., – Arts & Crafts Jn., – Anil Kumble Circle – Right Turn – BRV Jn. and proceed towards the central street.

Vehicles coming from Anil Kumble Circle towards Cubbon Road will have to go straight on Central Street Junction – Right Turn – Infantry Road – Safina Plaza – Left Turn – Main Guard Cross Road – Alies Circle – Dispensary Road – Kamaraja Road and Dickenson Road Jn. – Right Turn – K.R.Road jn. – Left Turn- and Cubbon Road onwards to Manipal Center junction.

Apart from the vehicle restrictions, the Bengaluru city police have also issued no parking zones in and around the Parade Ground on Cubbon Road:

1. No parking will be allowed on Central Street from Anil Kumble Circle to Shivajinagar Bus Stand.

2. No parking will be allowed on Cubbon Road from CTO Circle to KR Road and Cubbon Road Junction.

3. Parking will also remain banned on MG Road, from Anil Kumble Circle to Queens Circle on both sides.

While there have been restrictions on the parking of the invitees at the Manekshaw Parade Ground, Bengaluru police have also instructed invitees not to bring mobile phones, helmets, cameras, umbrellas, or any other equipment due to security reasons.
