Understanding of god
I believe in the divine force which is god. God is one, but there are many ways to interpret him. He is basically that force which we call upon in times of stress, weakness and sorrow and sometimes also when we are extremely happy or thankful. He is someone who will always be there even in the hardest of times, and all you need to do in return is, remember him every now and then.
Spiritual beliefs
You must have heard people say that god is around you and in you. While I definitely agree with that, I also believe that when you go to a temple, church or a mosque, the energy present there is so pure and positive that it automatically brings you closer to him. Having said that, I don’t mean one should spend all his time there. Visiting such holy places every now and then is enough.
Spiritual practices
Every morning, once I’m done with breakfast, I light a diya and incense sticks in front of god and then begin my 20-minute prayer. But sometimes there may not be time for the morning prayer, in such cases I try to say the prayer later in the day. I also visit a temple once every week.
Pilgrimage sites
There is a Jain pilgrimage site in Gujarat called Palitana which is at the top of a mountain and you have to climb around 3,000 odd steps to reach the temples. I go there usually when I have achieved a milestone, like when I got into MBBS and then again when I completed it.
Faith in miracles
I am not too sure if this falls under this category but, I have always wanted a sibling and prayed to god for one. After praying for almost 12 and-a-half years, I was blessed with a baby brother. This happened when I had given up hope of ever getting any sibling. So for me it’s nothing short of a miracle.
