Rajasthan: Owner Killed During Loot At Jewellery Store, Incident Caught On Camera
Police said five unidentified persons looted the shop and opened fire during which three people inside the shop sustained bullet injuries, and the owner succumbed to his injuries at the hospital

The owner of a jewellery store in Rajasthan died after being shot at during a loot when a group of five persons stormed into his shop, and held him and two others at gunpoint. The incident, which took place in the central market of Bhiwadi area in Khairthal-Tijara district on Friday (August 23), was captured in the shop’s CCTV cameras.

Police identified the deceased as Jai Soni, who along with his brother Madhusudan Soni and guard Sujan Singh were at the shop when the theft took place at Kamlesh Jewellers around 7.30 pm. Five unidentified people who came in a car, stormed into the shop and attacked the trio, police said.

According to police, the accused looted the shop and opened fire during which Jai, Madhusudan and Sujan sustained bullet injuries. Jai succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, they said.

Jai reportedly attacked the accused while they were looting the store. The robbers then ran outside and got into their car but Jai followed and tried to drag them out, which is when they shot at him.

Jaipur range inspector general of police Anil Kumar Tank said police teams have been formed to search and identify the accused on the basis of CCTV footage. The injured are undergoing treatment at a local hospital, he added.

The traders association is holding a protest demanding the immediate arrest of the accused after the incident. BJP MLA Baba Balaknath and senior police officials reached the protest site to hold talks with the traders and resolve the issue.
